Jack Rogers
Jack Rogers is a prize-winning, widely published bird and nature photographer who has been photographing birds and other wildlife for decades.  Jack leads workshops and presents a variety of seminars here in Florida each year and recently retired from his tenure of teaching nature photography at Valencia College in Orlando. He is also a great supporter of Florida’s conservation organizations and his images may be seen on their websites, pamphlets, and signposts across the state.

It can be difficult to identify shorebirds and seabirds, much less photograph them. This seminar will provide techniques and tips on how to get great shorebird and seabird images and provide some keys to help identify many of the common shorebirds and seabirds one will find in Florida. This session will also give information on some of the best places to find and photograph these birds in Florida and just for fun, even touch on a couple of wonderful, world-class locations outside of our state.

Most photographers and birders love to see and photograph Spoonbills. They are beautiful, interesting and to many, symbolic of the beauty of natural Florida. But Spoonies can often be difficult to find and photograph. During this seminar Jack will share photographs captured over many years of photographing Spoonbills across Florida. He’ll provide information on when and where to find Spoonies and great tips and techniques on how to produce beautiful images of them engaging in a variety of interesting behaviors including flight, feeding, nest building, and raising their chicks. You’ll leave this seminar equipped to capture great images of beautiful Spoonbills on your next outing!
